?Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) general secretary Abdulrahman Askar lauded the performance of the Bahraini referees team who conducted matches at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and the 16th AFC Asian Cup in Australia held recently.
This was announced during Askar’s reception of the three-member referees team, namely Nawaf Shuklralla, Yasser Tulifat and Ebrahim Sabt, in the presence of BOC Media and Public Relations director Mohammed Lorib and Bahrain Football Association’s Referees Committee head Jassim Mahmood.
Askar admired the skills showed by the referees, who officiated a number of the 2014 World Cup matches as well as the third-place match at the AFC Asian Cup in Australia, and noted that the BOC will continue to support the Bahraini referees to further impress the world with their ability to manage football matches of any competition.
On their part, the referees extended their gratitude to the committee and its president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa for facilitating their needs, which were presented the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports general secretary Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa and BOC general secretary Abdulrahman Askar.
They also asserted that what they have achieved would not have been possible without the continued support of the nation’s leadership and all leading sports figures and the football family in the Kingdom of Bahrain
