?Supreme Council for Youth and Sports assistant general secretary and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) general secretary Abdulrahman Askar congratulated the kingdom of Bahrain on the success of the recently-concluded Formula 1 2018 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.
Askar affirmed that the success of the Bahrain Formula One race for the 12th time would not have been possible without the support of the leadership and its keenness to provide all ideal conditions to bring this world event to Bahrain.
He also commended the strenuous efforts and far-sighted vision of HRH the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, hailing Bahrain’s resounding success in organizing the third biggest world championship for the 14th times since the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) was first launched in 2004.
Askar noted the excellent organizational capabilities of the Bahrain International Circuit to hold a dazzling race in all aspects, and show the world Bahrain’s national competencies at the highest levels and the excellent infrastructure.
He also praised the Kingdom’s achievements in the economic, tourism, media and cultural fields by hosting this world event, which put Bahrain among the developed countries and strengthened its position on the global sports map.
