?Supreme Council for Youth and Sports assistant secretary general and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) secretary general Abdulrahman Askar was named chairman of the prestigious King Cup football championship.
The decision was announced by Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee President, as per directives from His Majesty King Hamad.
For his part, Askar thanked His Majesty and Shaikh Nasser for this royal appointment, which will have positive impact on the kingdom’s most prestigious football competition.
Askar noted that Shaikh Nasser is an icon for the Bahraini youth for his outstanding sporting achievements over the past years and his honorable finishes both on the regional and international levels.
