?General secretary of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) Abdulrahman Askar commended the step taken by Shaikh Nasser in Hamad Al Khalifa to launch a new programme titled ‘Istijaba’ (Response), to develop the youth and sports sectors in Bahrain.
Shaikh Nasser, representative of His Majesty for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman and BOC president, has launched this first-of-its-kind programme during the Supreme Council board meeting on Sunday.
Askar affirmed the importance of such initiative, which will undoubtedly add more progress to both sectors and is one of several programmes recommended by Shaikh Nasser in recent years.
He stressed that the program, which aims at optimizing the investment of sports facilities in accordance with an integrated plan that contributes to enhancing the financial resources of youth and sports sectors.
It also looks for new sources of financing, and is considered a distinguished national project. To activate the investment process for the benefit of clubs and national federations and all youth and sports bodies in the Kingdom.
Askar affirmed that the program was launched in a timely manner and reflects the vision of Shaikh Nasser. The program aims to invest the state-owned sports facilities, and to create new fixed income sources for the benefit of the sports sector in general.
He expressed his confidence in the success of this program, which was blessed by the wise leadership, as well as the follow-up and implementation, which was carefully selected by Shaikh Nasser to manage this program.
