?Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) general secretary Abdulrahman Askar commended the significant role of the Parliament Council in supporting the march of sports movement, and hailed the legislature members’ efforts in promoting the sports sector.
This came during Askar’s meeting with Parliament Council member and President of the Bahrain Mind Sports Association Hassan Eid Bokammas, and praised his major contributions in boosting sports action in the Kingdom.
Both officials discussed issues related to the federation as well as its plans and programmes, and commended the efforts exerted by the federation to take the level of mind games in Bahrain to higher standards.
They also discussed their plan to back the UAE’s candidate Shaikh Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan for the presidency of the Asian Chess Federation for being the only Arab representative in this campaign.
On his part, Bokhammas thanked the Bahrain Olympic Committee and its president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa for supporting all sports federations in Bahrain, and specifically the mind sports federation, and his contributions to the federation’s achievements.
Bokhammas extended his keenness to back the UAE candidate at the Asian Chess Federation presidency elections due to his clear contributions to the development of chess in the continent.
