Askar chairs trainers’ affairs committee meeting

The training and trainers’ affairs committee at the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) held its first meeting chaired by the Assistant secretary-general of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) and general secretary of the BOC, Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, and the presence of the executive director of the sports affairs at the BOC, Abduljalil Asad, the committee’s head and director of sports training and development center at the BOC, Nabeel Taha, director of projects at BOC, Lounes Maden, and a number of BOC officials.
 
Askar welcomed the attendees and thanked them for accepting tasks they were assigned for. He conveyed greetings of representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the SCYS, President of BOC Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, as well as his wishes to succeed in carrying out their tasks that would regulate work of coaches according to the list approved by the BOC.
 
He expressed his confidence of the committee’s success for the scientific efficiency and extensive field experience its members enjoy and their achievements recorded in both national clubs and sports federations. He noted that formation of this committee came to put controls that elevate levels of training and provide care and protection for the employees of this important sector in the sports system.
Askar added that the BOC is considered a pioneer in this field at the Arab level as many regional Olympic Committees reached us to benefit from our regulations and systems we conduct including the united list of trainers. This, he said, is something we are very proud of. He stressed that the BOC strongly supports this committee to enable it to carry out its tasks properly expressing his confidence that all sports federations will cooperate with it for the interest of training and coaches in various sports. In conclusion, he praised the tangible progress the national coaches reached in the field of training, not at the local level, but exceeded the regional levels which, he assured, is something commendable and makes the BOC maintains these gains and to look forward to achieve more.
 
For his part, Asad said the BOC pays a great attention to this committee through which, he wished, would make all coaches feel that they have rights and duties as well as protected with regulations list.
He called upon all sports federations to form internal training committees for those who do not have such committees and reform the existing ones according to the list of coaches in order to facilitate the task of the training and trainers’ affairs committee. 
 
For his part, Taha expressed his thanks and appreciation to the BOC officials for their keenness in supporting this after it was a national project over a year ago. He promised positive outcomes that would be beneficial to sports in general and to training and trainers in particular.
 
Points on the meeting’s agenda like displaying items in the trainers and training affairs’ list, committees’ work plan for 2017 as well as requirements to obtain training license and other were discussed.
