Askar asserts boost in women sport achievements

?Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) general secretary Abdulrahman Askar asserted the importance to expand Bahrain women’s sport achievements in different overseas championships, the last of which was emerging overall winners of the recently-concluded Fourth GCC Women’s Games in Muscat.
This statement was announced during Askar’s meeting with Bahrain Handball Association (BHA) president Isa Isaaqi, in the presence of BOC Women’s Sport Committee chairwoman Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa.
Askar noted that the outstanding results achieved by the Bahraini athletes recently in international competitions became an incentive to build on these successes.
He refereed to handball as one of the sports, which has a rich record of remarkable achievements, and lauded the efforts of the BHA president to develop the women’s national handball team technical level.
Both parties also had talks about providing different ways of support to the women’s team, especially training camps opportunities in an attempt to boost the team performance in future tournaments.
On her part, Shaikha Hayat said the recent achievement of the women’s athletes in Muscat added motivation to the nationals and called on different women’s sports parties to step forward and offer its contributions.
She underlined the achievements to the continued support of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman and BOC president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and BOC general secretary Abdulrahman Askar to the women’s athletes in Bahrain
