Assessment Centre

The physical performance laboratory was founded in 1981 as per an agreement between the Supreme Council of Youth and Sports, signed by the then Crown Prince and Supreme Council Chairman His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the United States Sports Academy. One of the agreement conditions was to establish a sports performance assessment centre for national teams through specific tests to assess the physiological and functional level of respiratory as well as metabolic system for physical effort and muscular abilities.

In 2015, the Bahrain Olympic Committee decided to develop the laboratory and provide it with the latest equipment, while signing up one of the world sports tests specialized physicians Dr Vladimir Felipe of Cuba, which followed increased death casted at sports stadiums and health clubs. His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa had launched the lab to citizens to perform a set of required tests before starting physical activity for a reasonable charge. The Physical Performance Lab is the only place in Bahrain to assess athletic performance and to examine and monitor athletes’ fitness.

Raise efficiency of all athletes in the Kingdom of Bahrain to achieve sports results in cooperation with the relevant authorities.

OUR OBJECTIVES

Physical Performance Lab now offers performance and fitness testing services to the Elite Athletes, Sport and public people.
Help coaches to obtain knowledge on the players’ fitness level.
Measuring the physical abilities of either the players or practitioners.
Guide non-athlete citizens with advices and guidance before exercising in order to avoid any health risks.
Taking seamless key performance indicators offline to maximise the long distance.
