Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) secretary general Mohammed Al Nusuf has lauded the initiative of the Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to build 100 playgrounds across Bahrain’s neighborhoods.
Shaikh Nasser’s initiative aims to provide a suitable environment for young people and groups of society to exercise, in addition to emphasizing the role of the so-called ‘Al Firjan’ playgrounds in supporting national clubs and teams and providing them with various sports talents.
Al Nusuf highlighted Shaikh Nasser’s constant keenness to provide care for Bahraini youth and create good conditions to discover their skills, noting that these stadiums will provide an incubator for youth to showcase their talent and then join clubs and national teams.
“The well-equipped stadiums will create a stimulating environment, in which young Bahrainis can play their favourite sports, while making it a healthy lifestyle of their own,” said Al Nusuf.
The BOC secretary general added that the initiative also aims to enable youth to take advantage of their free time and spend it in a useful way, in addition to raising awareness on the importance of such practices in order to promote a healthy society.?
