The general secretary of the Jordan Olympic Committee (JOC), Nasser Ayman Al-Majali, praised the remarkable development and distinct leaps of the administrative performance in the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) and its positive reflection on the field performance of national teams and individuals who went all way up to the Olympic podiums. This, he said, made the BOC deserve being first-ranked among the Arabic Olympic Committees in regards development on the global level. He congratulated on winning the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) recognition for the “Best developing Olympic Committee in 2016”.
As an Arabic sports official and figure, Al-Majali expressed pride over BOC’s achievement which, he said, reflects competence of Arabic sports leaders at the global level, stressing that the JOC is honored to cooperate with the BOC to exchange expertise and to benefit from the successful experience in Bahrain through an agreement of understanding between the two committees.
This came during a quick visit by Al-Majali to Bahrain last week during which he met with the Assistant secretary-general of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) and general secretary of the BOC, Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, BOC board member Ali Isa Izaqi. The meeting focused on strengthening ways of mutual cooperation and coordination.
At the beginning of the meeting, Askar conveyed regards of the representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) and the General Secretary of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, stressing the keenness of the BOC on the continuation of mutual cooperation and understanding in various aspects like administrative, medical, training etc.
Askar stressed that the success of BOC is a success for all Arabic Olympic Committees and Bahrain is keen to go on in its developmental approach based on the guidance of Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, emanating from the reform project of His Majesty the King.
During the visit, Askar accompanied Al-Majali and the visiting delegation to a number of events. He also briefed him on a number of regulations and internal rules of the BOC.
Also present at the meeting were the logistical coordinator at the JOC, Ahmed Hatamleh, and Faten Mohammed Sewell. From the Bahraini side was Head of Arab relations at the BOC, Mohamed Al-Zayed.
