Bahrain Olympic Committee’s Anti-Doping Committee Chairman Dr Hussain Al Haddad will attend on Monday (June 2) the 11th Asia/Oceania Region Intergovernmental Ministerial Meeting on Anti-Doping in Sport, set to take place at Jeju Island, in Korea.
The two-day gathering, due to be held at the Shilla Jeju Hall, aims to present an opportunity to learn more about the challenges and the government responsibilities in the Code.
Other objectives are to ensure that all Anti-Doping stakeholders work together to implement effective programs that are in-line with the Code from the beginning of next year, and to discuss anti-doping issues and develop a strong network through the annual intergovernmental meeting.
Organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in cooperation with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and Korea Anti-Doping Agency (KADA), the meeting will feature presentations of several key topics, such as the 2014 WADC – Challenges and Government Responsibilities, Korea Anti-Doping Activities, Asian Contributions to WADA – 2014 & 2015.
Other issues to be discussed include report of the Finance Committee, individual country anti-doping progress reports, UNESCO Voluntary Fund, RADO activities and OCA report, presentation of Key challenges, overcoming the key challenges, the outcomes of group discussions and major Games in Korea – Doping Control Program.
