Al Doy Sports Centre triumphs at World Taekwondo Championship

?Al Doy Sports Centre clinched four medals at the recently-concluded World Taekwondo Championship in Amman, in Jordan.
The Bahrainis took two silver and two bronze medals in this major international martial arts event, at which some of the globe’s best athletes were in the fray.
Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) general secretary Abdulrahman Askar headed an high-ranking team to welcome the delegation on their return at Bahrain International Airport.
Askar conveyed the congratulations of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman, and BOC President, to members of the team and his best wishes for them.
The BOC general secretary noted the noticeable development that Bahrain has achieved in taekwondo, especially Al Doy Sports Centre, led by former Bahraini martial arts champion and present coach Abdulla Isa Al Doy.
On his part, Bahrain Martial Arts Federation president Eng. Ahmed Al Khayyat congratulated members of Al Doy Sports Centre on their impressive results in this challenging event and commended their performance in the competition.
He also noted the continued support from the kingdom’s government and the BOC to the federation, which played a major part in the development of taekwondo on the regional and international levels.
