The Bahrain Olympic Committee’s (BOC) Bahrain Olympic Academy is organizing a course on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) starting tomorrow (Tuesday).
The two-day event is organized in cooperation with the American base in Bahrain, with representatives of health clubs and physical fitness are expected to take part. It will be presented by a team of experts in this area.
The course is as per directives of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative to His Majesty the King for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and BOC president, in an attempt to avoid the increasing phenomena of sudden death among athletes in Bahrain.
Director of the Olympic Academy Dr. Nabeel Taha stressed that the course aims to prepare a number of athletes to obtain knowledge and skills to perform CPR procedure, which would help in saving lives of many people in the future.
Taha added that the academy will organize three courses per year in cooperation with the American Base to cover the largest possible number of specialists in this area.
The course comprises theoretical and practical sessions. The participants will receive an official two-year valid license covering CPR and first aid certified by the United States.
