?Bahrain Olympic Committee acting general secretary Abdulrahman Askar met at his office World Academy of Sport (WAoS) Director Chris Solly, who presented details of the National Federation Management Programme.
This programme is organised by the BOC in co-operation with the academy, and aims to provide greater success and sustainability across the national sporting federations in Bahrain.
Twenty one participants were graduated after the first course last year, while there are 31 participants from different sports  clubs and associations taking part this year.
Askar was briefed on the academy’s future plans as part of the agreement signed by parties in bid to develop management skills specific to the sporting organisations of the participants.
On his part, Solly lauded the advanced levels of the studiers, noting that this programme started attracting participants from outside Bahrain, which is by itself is considered a major booster to this advanced programme.
The programme also brings many benefits to the attendees, including understanding how the Olympic Committee can support the administration of National Federations through standardized processes and requirements.
Other benefits include learning the management principles required to successfully manage the athlete pathway in their sport.
The programme is split into three modules, each of five days duration. The module topics include strategy, national and international stake holder identification and management.
Another module is defining and connecting the athlete path way to federation operations.
The third module focuses on federation commercial, event operations and integrated planning and measurement.
