?A campaign to promote the International Olympic Day, scheduled for tomorrow (JUNE 23), was organized yesterday at the Bahrain City Centre in Manama.
Organised by the Bahrain Olympic Committee’s (BOC) Corporate Communication Directorate, the campaign aimed to spread awareness among the public on the importance of the International Olympic Day.
Another objective of this event is to register for the annual 3km walkathon, to be held tomorrow at Doht Arad Walkway in Muharraq, to mark this occasion celebrations.
The campaign also featured a variety of entertaining programmes for kids and adults, as Corporate Communication Directorate representatives Fajer Jassim, Dalal Salama, Khalid Haji and Mohammed Al Koohej briefed the crowd on the International Olympic Day and the Olympic movement principles.
Also present were BOC board members Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa and Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, BOC acting general secretary Abdulrahman Askar, committee directors and other senior officials.
Meanwhile, the BOC has completed all arrangements ahead of tomorrow’s 3km walkathon, set to commence at 5pm. Registration will be available from 4pm on the day and are welcome to take part.
The organisers will give away certificates of appreciation, signed by the International Olympic Committee, in addition to some gifts and commemorative awards to all those who take part in this annual sporting event.
