?There are 715 physical education teachers were graduated from the sports programme organized organized by the Bahrain Olympic Committee’s (BOC) Sports Training and Development Centre in cooperation with the Education Ministry over the past nine years.
This programme aims to develop physical education teachers’ abilities in different sports. These joint courses started in 2007 and are continuing for nine consecutive years.
It’s one of the programmes supported by the Bahrain Olympic Committee management as part of its annual plan for the Sports Training and Development Centre.
Sixty five teachers had successfully passed the program in the first edition in 2007, 68 teachers in 2008, 49 in 2009, 68 in 2010, 11 in 2011.
The programme received higher interest as 128 teachers signed for the 2012 programme, 208 in 2014, while the statistics committee is yet to confirm the graduates for 2015 programme.
The Sports Training and Development Centre director Nabeel Taha noted the importance of such courses in enriching the scientific gains of men and women physical education teachers, as well as boosting their experiences to better apply their curriculums and deliver them to the students.
According to Taha, a total of 150 physical education teachers of different sports are taking part in this year’s edition of the programme courses, which are due to conclude on January 21.
These courses will teach the basics of basketball, table tennis, badminton, and athletics for men and women, each of which are taking place at different venues.
