?The first module of the Sports Organisations Management Programme, organised by the Bahrain Olympic Committee’s Sports Training and Development Section, got underway with 31 representatives from different sports organisations from Bahrain and abroad in the fray.This modules, which concludes on October 10, is being supervised by a professional team from the World Academy of Sport, namely Chris Solly, Michael Cary and Gordon Mandry. The participants will undergo final examination at the end of the course.The second  modules of the program will be held from December 1 to 5 this year, while the third and last is scheduled to take place from January 26 to 30, 2014.Developed by the World Academy of Sport (WAoS), the programme meets the specific training needs that National Sporting Federation Managers face.It’s split into three modules, each of five days duration. The first module topic is strategy, national and international stake holder identification and management.The remaining two topics are defining and connecting the athlete path way to federation operations, as well as federation commercial, event operations and integrated planning and measurement.Consultation with the Bahrain Olympic Committee has  led to agreement on the dissemination of standardized best practice through this programme, while will lead to greater success and sustainability across the National Sporting Federations.Participants would achieve several benefits from attending the programme, such as developing management skills specific to their sporting organization.It also helps understanding how the Olympic Committee can support the administration of National Federations through standardized process and requirements, besides learning the management principles required to successfully manage the athlete pathway in their sport.
