300 coaches attend sports training courses

?A total of 300 coaches and physical education teachers took part in a variety of sports courses this year, the Bahrain Olympic Committee’s (BOC) Sports Training and Development Section announced yesterday (March 18).
These specialized courses were organised by the Sports Training and Development Section in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, and covered different sports Disciplines.
They were football, athletics, badminton, swimming, physical fitness, management and strategic planning and physiotherapy.
There were 102 coaches who participated in the physical fitness course, 51 in physiotherapy, 36 in badminton, 34 in management and strategic planning, 28 in the football, 26 in athletics and 23 in swimming.
A survey, which was conducted by the Sports Training and Development Section, was met with acceptance and satisfaction from the participants, especially in regards to teaching methods, the quality of instructors, courses objectives, communication and venue.
This survey aimed to identify the shortcomings, if any, and the service participants, and develop these courses in all respects to make a positive influence on the quality of the scientific content.
Head of the Sports Training and Development Section Nabil Taha said the Bahrain Olympic Committee is proud of the partnership and fruitful cooperation with the Ministry of Education, represented in the Physical Education, Scouts and Guides.
He pointed out that the huge participation of the physical education teachers in  such programmes reflects the positive interaction with the activities that are organized by the section in order to contribute to the development of sports officials representing the education sector.
Taha added that the success of these course organised by both parties will push the section to continue bringing up similar specialized functions in an attempt to boost the training expertise of national coaches and physical education teachers.
He noted that the section is keen to produce a variety of sports courses throughout the year and meet the aspiration of the teachers, noting that the survey performed on the participants is a significant procedure in an attempt to promote positive aspects and avoid cons as well as identifying the suggestions of the participants to improve the quality of the scientific content of the courses.
