?The concluding workshop of the third edition of the National Federation Management Programme got underway last Sunday at the Bahrain Olympic Committee’s Sports Training and Development Section, located at Manama Club in Juffair.
Twenty seven participants come from Bahrain and other GCC countries as they take part in this programme, being organised in cooperation with the World Academy of Sport, and is part of the Sports Training and Development Section annual plan aimed to develop and qualify national cadres.
The World Academy of Sport Regional Centre is in partnership with the Bahrain Olympic Committee and forms an integral part of the Training and Development department set of programmes.
The programme is the mid-point for many students as they progress along the programme pathway that has been specifically developed for Bahrain and the GCC in order to enhance the management of sport throughout the region.
Students on the current programme have undertaken the level one programme, which introduces sport management practices, concepts and theories over a four day programme.
This level two programme has involved three, one week workshops with students completing research projects between the workshops.
Two additional programmes complete the management pathway which includes a level 3 Postgraduate Certificate in Sport Management and a specialist Event Management Programme.
To date students have developed strategic plans for National Federations and sporting clubs, establishing event plans, reviewing and creating athlete pathways for national and local sport as well as general management needed to successfully run sport clubs and organisations.
