The Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) yesterday approved its list of delegations competing at the 17th Asian Games, to be held in Incheon, in South Korea. The event is scheduled to take place from September 19 to 4.
Bahrain will be sending 120 athletes and officials, representing eight sports disciplines – athletics, equestrian, triathlon, shooting, handball, sailing, cycling and bowling, as they gear up to make their 11th appearance in this prestigious continental gathering.
Administration delegation member Fajer Jassim said the finishing touches are being processed in order to finalise arrangements and provide ideal environment for the Bahrain teams set to compete in their respective events.
Fajer said the committee has already distributed the outfits to members of all national teams taking part, as well as issuing the tickets and determining the arrival and departure of the delegations. The administrative delegation will be the first to touch on Incheon on September 12, while they are set to depart on October 6.
Bahrain’s delegation accommodation arrangements have also been prepared, as a purpose-built sports village will be the venue for all athletes to stay during the games.
